Westbury Aluminum Railing in St. Louis, MO

For aluminum railing we build with Westbury Tuscany C10, made by Digger Specialties. It is the railing we put on our own composite decks: powder-coated aluminum, a lifetime limited warranty, and a picket profile that disappears into the view instead of framing it.

Why aluminum, and why this one

Wood railing is the part of a deck that fails first. It is exposed on every side, it holds water at every joint, and it is the one thing on the deck people actually put their weight against. Aluminum takes that whole failure mode off the table — nothing to rot, nothing to re-stain, and a powder-coated finish that holds its color.

Tuscany C10 uses a 3/4” square baluster, which is slim enough to keep sightlines open from a seated position. If you want the round profile instead, the same system is offered as C101 with a 3/4” round baluster.

Code approvals. Tuscany carries CCRR-0163 (2012, 2015, and 2018 codes), CCRR-0530 (2018 and 2021 codes), and Miami-Dade County approval. That last one is a hurricane-zone standard — it is not something St. Louis requires, but it tells you what the system was engineered to survive. Guardrails are the most common source of serious deck injuries, and the load rating is the reason we do not build them out of whatever is on the truck.

Care

Soap and water. That is the maintenance schedule. There is nothing to stain, nothing to seal, and no annual anything. If the finish gets road film or pollen on it, wash it the same way you would wash a car.

The warranty

Westbury provides a lifetime limited warranty on Tuscany railing, and registration is done online after installation — we handle that and hand you the paperwork. On top of it, composite decks with aluminum railing carry our own three-year limited workmanship warranty covering the installation itself: post attachment, rail connections, and gate function. The manufacturer covers the railing. We cover how it is anchored to your deck.

Seeing it beats reading about it
